My mother, Linda, and my mother in law, Jane, both came up to Birmingham a few weekends ago to take a hypertufa class with me! My friend, the talented Leslie Martin, put the seminar on at her house. She makes gorgeous concrete bowls, planters, and even does custom countertops. John drools over her workshop. I am definitely planning to have some of her countertops in a future kitchen!
Hypertufa is a lightweight Porous concrete material similar to stone. It is made by mixing various amounts of cement, peat moss, and vermiculite.
We all three made a planter, a bowl, and an oblong bowl.
